Enjoying huge market leadership in Northern Ireland, the company was keen to ensure it maintained that position, and saw benefits in being able to achieve greater flexibility in the numbers of packets of crisps it was able to offer in multi-pack bags, with research showing there was demand for packs ranging from six bags up to ten. With its existing mechanical flow wrapper unable to handle the larger pack sizes, Tato turned to Norwich based Argosy Packaging for a more flexible electronically controlled solution.
