Processing food – temperature treatment and portioning

The variety of processes to treat and portion natural ingredients is very large and the requirements to industrial automation products differ significantly depending on the type of food (fruit & vegetables, meat & dairy products, pasta & baked products, convenience food, liquids, etc) and the process step (cleaning, cooking, freezing, portioning, etc). Omron features a large portfolio of different products fitting the requirements of each particular process step.

Processing of meat and dairy products (cutting of ham & cheese)

Omron's E3ZM metal housing photoelectric sensors provide the same sensing performance as the E3Z series and fulfill both the requirements of hygienic design and maximum lifetime. The tested high detergent and water resistance (Ecolab and IP69k certified) of the smooth SUS 316L housing makes it last more than 20-times longer than standard metal housing sensors. High speed or cutting applications or aseptic environments often require additional safety precautions and access doors to these areas require monitoring. The F3S-TGR-N stainless steel non-contact switches are designed for often cleaned environments featuring the same high grade 316L stainless steel as the E3ZM and monitor the status of guarding doors. The status of the doors is displayed by an easily visible LED for fast diagnosis. Learn more about the F3S-TGR-N

New anti-microbial sensor E2F-D

Creating added value for sensors that are used in food and packaging is the aim of a continuous cooperation between Omron and its specialized partners. The innovative use of anti-microbial material in food applications reduces the risk of food contamination through microbes and bacteria growing in mechanical trouble spots like threads on inductive sensors. Heat treatment (cooking)

For heat treatment or cooking applications hot steam or heated metal parts may damage standard sensors. The E2EH heat resistant inductive sensor provides both temperature resistance up to 120°C and high detergent and water resistance featuring the high grade 316L stainless steel housing and high performance plastic sensing face.
